Get the house in order
One of the most crucial jobs I will have as Senator will be to advise and consent on candidates for various offices nominated by POTUS and to ultimately stand as jury to any impeachment proceedings brought by the house. Our recent representation in this seat have spectacularly failed in this duty. This means that beyond doing that job competently which I vow to do, I must also help us to focus on learning the lessons offered to us by the calamitous failures we have invited into leadership. These men, and sometimes women, have begun for us an experiment we should never have run. We should, however, learn the lessons offered to us through these failures and work to prevent them moving forward.
I do not know if it is too late to reverse the damage done yet. But never in our lifetimes have we had the opportunity to so boldly begin again laying new foundations for a country built on the guarantees of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
